Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on 110 Freeway in Carson Turns Deadly

 
CARSON, CA (July 4, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 110 Freeway in Carson early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:39 a.m. on July 3, just north of Carson Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was lying in the second lane of the southbound freeway when a 1999 Lexus that was traveling between 65 to 70 mph struck him.
 
The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office withheld his identity pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old boy driving the Lexus did not sustain any injuries.
 
It is still unknown why the pedestrian was lying in the freeway prior to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
