Margarita Linares Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Olive Avenue near Fresno Street

 
FRESNO, CA (July 30, 2021) — Margarita Linares died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Olive Avenue near Fresno Street Thursday night.
 
According to authorities, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 9:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a possible white Ford Expedition struck Linares outside of a marked crosswalk. Subsequently, the driver left the scene, failing to render aid.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and transported the 86-year-old Fresno woman to Community Regional Medical Center. Although, even after having received life-saving efforts, Linares succumbed to her injuries.
 
At this time, officers are combing through surveillance footage to determine the vehicle and hit-and-run driver. However, if anyone has more to add to this crash, please contact the Fresno Police Department.
