Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Intentionally Hitting SDPD Officer on Westview Parkway
MIRA MESA, CA (July 15, 2021) – A San Diego police officer sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Westview Parkway, Thursday morning.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened on July 8, at about 10:00 a.m. The officer pulled over a black Chrysler sedan near the intersection of Westview Parkway and Black Mountain Road.
However, the driver accelerated in reverse and hit the officer. As per reports, the vehicle continued to push the officer’s motorcycle along the street with the officer pinned underneath it.
Then, the Chrysler fled from the scene and sped north on Black Mountain Road.
Emergency responders rushed the injured officer to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. SDPD did not release the name of the 13-year veteran officer.
Investigators described the suspect as a man with shaved or short hair. Officers also confirmed that the man was with a female passenger.
