Woman Killed in Broadside Accident on Keyes Road at Mountain View Road [Keyes, CA]

Broadside Crash with Big Rig on Keyes Road Kills 56-Year-Old Turlock Woman

 
KEYES, CA (July 31, 2021) – A 56-year-old Turlock woman died in a broadside accident on Keyes Road at Mountain View Road Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 6:21 a.m. on July 30 near Keyes. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a Toyota Corolla when she failed to stop at the stop sign. A westbound Mac tractor-trailer rig filled with corn grain then broadsided her car.
 
The impact sent the big rig onto an orchard on the south side of the road. Its driver, a 65-year-old Atwater man, was taken to the hospital for moderate injuries.
 
The driver of the Corolla died at the scene. Her front-seat passenger, a 58-year-old woman from Turlock, complained of pain and was also taken to the hospital.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed or intoxication was factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
