Gwendolyn Pointer Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on 39th Street at Crenshaw Boulevard
LEIMERT PARK, CA (August 10, 2021) — Gwendolyn Pointer died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 39th Street at Crenshaw Boulevard Monday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the hit-and-run crash happened around 3:00 a.m. Under unknown conditions, a driver struck Pointer, of Baldwin Hills, and fled the area. Unfortunately, the 60-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Per reports, a possible suspect surrendered to police not long after. Yet at this time, officers have no information on the suspect or the factors that drove the crash. However, if anyone has more insight into this accident, please contact the authorities.
