Driver Trapped after Big Rig Accident at Stoddard Wells Road and 15 Freeway in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 10, 2021) – A driver sustained injuries in a big rig accident on Stoddard Wells Road, Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 9, at about 3:26 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a white 2021 Hyundai Sonata crashed into a 2014 International TranStar 8600 near the northbound 15 Freeway off-ramp.
The impact of the collision caused the Hyundai to go underneath the trailer and trapped the sedan driver.
Crews from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver. Then, a CHP helicopter transported the victim to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
As per reports, the semi blocked the road and prompted road closure.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
