One Hurt in Alleged DUI Crash on Highway 140
MERCED, CA (August 18, 2021) — One person was injured in Sunday’s suspected DUI accident on Highway 140 near Kibby Road.
According to Merced Police, the alleged DUI crash happened around 11:35 p.m. For what officers believe were DUI reasons, a 43-year-old man in a pickup truck struck one of four cars stopped before some road construction. Due to the impact, the pickup veered off the road and caught on fire. However, authorities became successful in freeing the man from the vehicle before the car became engulfed in flames.
