Terry English Dead after Semi-Truck Accident on Lenwood Road and Community Boulevard
HINKLEY, CA (August 9, 2021) — Authorities identified Terry English as the 32-year-old Barstow man killed in a crash on Wednesday, August 4.The collision happened around 4:09 a.m. at the intersection of Lenwood Road and Community Boulevard. It involved a 2016 Freightliner towing a box and a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier.
California Highway Patrol Barstow determined English moved westbound in his sedan on Community Boulevard at an unknown speed. He failed to stop at the intersection. At the same time, a 25-year-old male from Fresno drove the Freightliner southbound on Lenwood Road. Then the Chevrolet entered directly into its path.
CHP officials said the driver of the truck was unable to step on the brake on time and hit the Chevrolet. After the impact, the vehicles hit a power pole and knocked it down.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the driver of the Chevrolet dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
English’s sister, Deannette Pickford, made a Gofundme page to help with her brother’s funeral expenses.
