Fatal Pedestrian Accident at First Street and Standard Avenue

 
SANTA ANA, CA (September 7, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at First Street and Standard Avenue in Santa Ana Friday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:54 p.m. on September 3. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle traveling westbound on First Street struck him.
 
The pedestrian suffered major injuries from the impact. Responding Orange County Fire Authority personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Coroner’s officials will release the victim’s identity once it is confirmed and next of kin is notified.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. Police said the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

The sobriety of the pedestrian remains unknown pending the release of the Orange County Coroner’s investigation.
