One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 37 near Skaggs Island Road [Sonoma County, CA]

Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on Highway 37 in Sonoma County

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (September 16, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 37 in Sonoma County early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:03 a.m. on September 16, near the junction of Skaggs Island Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in the area when a red Nissan Versa struck them.
 
The impact caused the pedestrian significant injuries and they died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Crews closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 37 at Highway 121 while they cleared the wreckage. The advised motorists to use alternate routes.
 
The circumstances of this fatal accident remain under investigation.
