One Killed in Rollover Accident on 5 Freeway at 7th Standard Road [Buttonwillow, CA]

Deadly Rollover Accident on 5 Freeway in Buttonwillow Involves Two Pickup Trucks

 
BUTTONWILLOW, CA (September 8, 2021) – One person died in a rollover accident on 5 Freeway, just north of 7th Standard Road.

Around 7:19 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck for unknown reasons. After the crash, the Tacoma overturned several times and slammed into a fence on the right shoulder.

Officers arrived and found one fatality as a result of the accident. They found the body about 20 feet from the Tacoma.

The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending family notification.

At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident to determine the exact cause and liability.
