24-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at Tampa and Plummer Streets

 
NORTHRIDGE, CA (October 6, 2021) – Leonil Chavez was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Northridge Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:56 p.m. on October 1, at the intersection of Tampa Street and Plummer Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 24-year-old man was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused Chavez critical injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver fled the scene after the crash.
 
At this time, authorities are still investigating the incident on the lookout for the suspect.
