Pedestrian Accident on Seventh Street in Oakland Leaves Woman in Critical Condition

 
OAKLAND, CA (October 31, 2021) – A woman suffered critical injuries in a pedestrian accident on Seventh Street in Oakland Chinatown Thursday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:03 p.m. on October 28, near Madison Street, about two blocks from the Lake Merritt BART station. According to the Oakland Police Department, a Chevrolet truck was driving east on Seventh Street crossing Madison Street when the woman walked into the road outside of a crosswalk. The driver had a green light and the truck hit the woman.
 
As a result, the woman suffered severe injuries. Paramedics transported her to a hospital in critical condition.
 
Police are still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is underway and anyone with information can call the Police Department’s traffic investigation unit at (510) 777-8570.
