1 Killed in Pedestrian Crash on 280 Freeway in Daly City
DALY CITY, CA (March 15, 2024) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on the 280 Freeway near John Daly Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 4:28 a.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a person on the northbound lanes of the 280 Freeway near the John Daly Boulevard on-ramp.
Soon after, paramedics arrived and found the victim on the road in front of a car. The pedestrian passed away at the scene, and the San Mateo County Coroner responded soon after.
Due to the fatal incident, officers closed three lanes, south of John Daly Boulevard to investigate.
Reports did not indicate the exact events leading to the crash, the pedestrian or the driver. However, we will update this report once we receive additional information.
