Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Palm Desert

 
PALM DESERT, CA (March 14, 2024) – Jay Groth was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palm Desert Tuesday evening on March 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:31 p.m. at Cook Street and Country Club Drive. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Groth was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Groth to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was a 62-year-old Indio resident.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
