Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run SUV on V Street in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (March 10, 2024) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on V Street in Merced Friday evening on March 8.
 
According to the Merced Police Department, the man was out walking his dog when a car struck him in the 1200 block of V Street at 12th Street around 7:30 p.m.
 
The impact caused the man fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the car drove away after the crash.
 
Police described the car as an early 2000s white or light-colored Chevrolet Suburban.
 
At this time, officers are still investigating the fatality and searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
