Man Dies after Run Over by Semi Truck on Merrill Street in Salinas

 
SALINAS, CA (April 6, 2024) – A man was hit and killed by a semi truck on Merrill Street in Salinas Friday afternoon on April 5.
 
According to the Salinas Police Department, the fatality occurred around 4:04 p.m. at B C Systems at 1341 Merrill Street near Nutting Street. The semi truck was pulling out and struck the man at the loading dock.
 
As a result, the man died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
 
The driver pulled over and cooperated with law enforcement.
 
Police said the driver was not impaired while driving. They added that the man was not an employee at B C System.
 
Further investigation is underway.
