1 Killed in Head-On Crash on 5th Street in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (April 2, 2024) — A woman died in a head-on accident on 5th Street near Fairview Street.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the two-car crash happened around 9:55 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a woman driving a Nissan Versa westbound on 5th Street entered the oncoming traffic lanes. Subsequently, her vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV carrying a female driver and her toddler.
Minutes later, paramedics arrived to find the head-on crash and transported the gravely injured Nissan motorist to a hospital where she later passed away. Officials did not release her name.
As for the pair in the Tahoe, they were unharmed in the accident.
Authorities did not say what caused the crash but are looking into whether impairment factored into the collision. If anyone has information, please call the SAPD at (714) 245-8294.
