4 Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 41 [Madera, CA]

Four People Injured after Semi-Truck Rear-Ends Vehicle on Highway 41 in Madera

 
MADERA, CA (August 29, 2024) – Four people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 41, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 27, at about 7:30 a.m. A semi-truck with a set of double trailers reportedly failed to stop for traffic and struck the rear of a Honda Accord near Avenue 12.
 
The initial crash caused a chain reaction, with the Honda pushing into a Volkswagen, the Volkswagen into a Nissan, and the Nissan into a Chevy truck, which in turn collided with a Lexus. The drivers involved were a 39-year-old woman from Fresno, a 30-year-old woman visiting from Italy, a 72-year-old man from Fresno, and a 20-year-old man from Fresno.
 
Four people were later transported to a hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries. As per reports, the 21-year-old Honda driver suffered a possible concussion.
 
The 57-year-old semi-truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
