Woman Killed in Big Rig Accident on Avenue 12 [Madera, CA]

31-Year-Old Woman Dies after Head-On Crash Involving Big Rig on Avenue 12 in Madera

 
MADERA, CA (September 2, 2024) – A 31-year-old woman was killed in a big rig accident on Avenue 12, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 30, at about 5:30 a.m. A westbound maroon Chrysler reportedly stopped to make a left turn onto Riverstone Boulevard.
 
For reasons still under investigation, a big rig traveling in the same direction failed to stop and rear-ended the Chrysler. The impact of the crash caused the Chrysler to collide head-on with a northbound Nissan Altima.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced the Nissan driver dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.
 
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Chrysler driver suffered injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
 
The big rig driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident.
