Man on Scooter Trapped Under Car, Dies near Vanowen Street and Owensmouth Avenue [San Fernando Valley, CA]

Scooter Rider Hit, Killed by Car near Vanowen Street in San Fernando Valley

 
SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA (December 30, 2024) — A man riding a scooter was trapped underneath a car and died after being hit near Vanowen Street and Owensmouth Avenue.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, this deadly scooter crash happened around 10:50 a.m. Saturday. Upon responding, First Responders located the victim trapped under the axle of a white SUV.
 
Just before their arrival, the 17-year-old driver leaving the mall tried turning right but struck the man. He subsequently hit the ground and slid underneath the car when the vehicle rode over him.
 
Emergency Personnel deemed the victim, described as a 40-year-old, deceased at the scene. Officials have not identified the victim, nor have they determined this crash’s leading factors. If anyone has more information, contact the Los Angeles police.
