Pedestrian Dies after Struck by SUV on Berryessa Road in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (January 8, 2025) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Berryessa Road in San Jose Monday evening on January 6.
The fatal crash happened around 10:33 p.m. near Sierra Road. According to the San Jose Police Department, a man was driving a silver 2001 Toyota SUV eastbound on Berryessa Road. As he was passing through the Sierra Road intersection on a green light, he struck the male pedestrian who walking across the street outside of the crosswalk.
The impact of the crash caused the pedestrian serious injuries.
Responding paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital, where victim later died.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV stopped at the scene. There was no indication from police that he was arrested or cited.
