3 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on 91 Freeway [Anaheim, CA]

Three Dead in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Accident on 91 Freeway near Coal Canyon Road in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, CA (February 27, 2025) – Three people died in a multi-vehicle accident on 91 Freeway, early Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on February 26, at about 1:00 a.m. For an unknown reason, an Infiniti sedan stopped in the No. 2 lane, causing a Honda to also stop.

A Hyundai then crashed into the rear of the Honda near the Coal Canyon Road off-ramp. The impact of the collision caused the Honda to catch fire. As per reports, a Toyota also became involved in the collision.

Emergency crews pronounced all three Honda occupants dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victims, pending notification of next of kin.

Responders issued a SigAlert that closed all lanes of 91 Freeway to make way for an investigation.

CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
