Homero Sanchez Dead, Mariel Castaneda Hurt in DUI Crash on Crows Landing Road near Monte Vista Avenue
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (June 24, 2021) — Homero Sanchez died in a DUI accident on Crows Landing Road near Monte Vista Avenue Saturday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened around 8:30 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, 64-year-old Sanchez allowed his northbound 2006 Honda Civic to drift to the oncoming lane. Subsequently, his Honda collided with a southbound 2014 Land Rover Range Rover head-on.
Due to the severity of the crash, paramedics transported Sanchez to Doctors Medical Center for immediate assistance. However, the Patterson man died shortly after. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old driver of the Land Rover — Mariel E. Castaneda — sustained serious injuries and received care from nurses at the same hospital.
At this time, authorities have much to investigate. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
Our heartfelt sympathies are with the family and friend of Homero C. Sanchez.
