1 Driver and Two Students Suffer Injuries in Santa Ana Bus Accident on Daisy Avenue
SANTA ANA, CA (June 28, 2021) – Three people were injured in a bus accident on Daisy Avenue at Willits Avenue Monday afternoon.
The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on June 28. CHP officials said a Toyota Sienna going about 40 to 50 mph allegedly failed to yield for a stop sign at the intersection. It then slammed into a school bus traveling westbound on Willits at approximately 20 mph.
The bus careened through a fence and into a yard, according to the CHP.
As a result of the crash, the man driving the minivan suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
There were four students on the bus, ranging in age from 9 to 15. Paramedics took two of those children to Children’s Hospital of Orange with complaints of pain.
The other two other students were released to a parent or guardian, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
