Three Killed in Head-On Accident on South Riverside Avenue [Rialto, CA]

Morning Head-On Accident on South Riverside Avenue in Rialto Kills 3 Adults and Seriously Injures 1

 
RIALTO, CA (June 28, 2021) – Three people died in a head-on accident on South Riverside Avenue in Rialto Monday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. on June 28. According to the Rialto Police Department, a Dodge Ram pickup was heading south on Riverside Avenue approaching Santa Avenue. At the same time, a speeding Nissan Altima was coming up from behind.
 
To avoid hitting the Dodge, the Altima’s driver made an abrupt turn, clipping the pickup, veering into opposing traffic and colliding head-on with a box truck.
 
As a result, the woman driving the Nissan and two adult men suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Their identities were not immediately available.
 
Another woman had major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
 
No one was injured in the pickup or the box truck.
 
The fatal crash is still under investigation.
