2 Injured, DUI Wrong-Way Accident on Highway 180 near Chestnut Avenue [Fresno, CA]

2 Hurt in DUI Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 180 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (May 17, 2024) — Two people were injured in a DUI wrong-way accident on Highway 180 near Chestnut Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wrong-way accident happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. For DUI reasons, a woman was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 180. Subsequently, the wrong-way vehicle collided with a Honda Accord driven by a woman in her 50s.
 
Minutes later, paramedics responded to the wrong-way head-on accident to find two people with unknown injuries. After identifying that impairment factored into the cause, authorities arrested the driver for felony DUI.
