53-Year-Old Grandmother Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY, CA (May 14, 2024) – Delmy O’Gara was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 94 in Spring Valley.
Loved ones told authorities that the victim left a birthday party on a Friday night and never returned to her home.
The next morning, a cellphone trace led O’Gara’s loved ones to the eastbound Highway 94, just past Federal Boulevard. They looked over the guardrail, and saw O’Gara’s tennis shoe.
Shortly after, they found O’Gara in a ditch with fatal injuries. They also found the victim’s damaged Kia Forte near the scene.
O’Gara was a 53-year-old grandmother, who worked in housekeeping for a downtown hotel.
A Gofundme campaign has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses.
The exact time and date of the fatal crash remain unknown at this time.
The CHP said an investigation is ongoing, and they have not yet made an arrest.
