High-Speed Chase on Valentine Avenue in Fresno Kills Motorcycle Rider and Critically Injures Passenger

 
FRESNO, CA (May 26, 2024) – A motorcyclist was killed in a high-speed chase on Valentine Avenue near Shields Avenue in Fresno Friday afternoon on May 24.
 
The pursuit started around 4:24 p.m. after deputies tried to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation at McKinley and Feland avenues. However, the man and woman on the bike took off at a high rate of speed leading to a short pursuit.
 
Minutes later, the motorcycle crashed into a sedan at the intersection of Valentine and Shields avenues after failing to stop at the posted stop sign.
 
Responding paramedics took both the motorcyclist and his passenger to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Sadly, the man later died at the hospital. The 22-year-old woman was in critical condition.
 
The driver of the sedan was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, but he did not suffer any severe injuries.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the man had an active arrest warrant on file for traffic-related offenses.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
