Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash on Highway 29 in Napa County
NAPA COUNTY, CA (June 21, 2024) — A man died in a motorcycle accident Thursday on Highway 29 near Highway 128.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 5:40 a.m. As a 41-year-old Napa man tried passing other vehicles by crossing over the solid double yellow lines of the road, his northbound 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle crashed head-on with a 2010 Mercedes sedan.
Subsequently, paramedics responded to the scene just north of Robert Mondavi Winery, where they found the motorcyclist. Although he was wearing a helmet, he suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The Mercedes-Benz driver, described as a 30-year-old San Francisco man, was unharmed.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s name pending family notification. However, once family members know, the Napa County Sheriff’s Corner Office will release his name.
Our deepest thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.
