1 Dies in Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 21, 2024) — A man died in a motorcycle accident on the 5 Freeway near Carmel Valley Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 1:00 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a 35-year-old San Diego man crashed his Indian-brand two-wheeler into the rear of a Mini Cooper. Shortly after, paramedics responded to the collision near Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.
Upon arriving, medics located the 35-year-old man, who was also hit by an oncoming Nissan Sentra. Due to his condition, paramedics took him to the hospital where he passed away.
Authorities have not yet identified him.
Following the accident, officers closed the southbound side of the freeway to investigate. If anyone has more information, please call the local authorities.
