Man in Wheelchair Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Sierra Highway near Milling Street in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (June 3, 2024) – A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a car on Sierra Highway, Friday evening.
 
According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, the incident happened on May 31, at about 11:00 p.m. A northbound dark SUV reportedly struck the victim while he was attempting to cross the intersection from east to west near Milling Street.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced the man dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Details about the SUV driver were not immediately released.
 
The sheriff’s station continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officials ask anyone with additional information to call traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at (661) 948-8466.
