Pedestrian Critically Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run near 16th Street, 41-Year-Old Joe Johnson Arrested

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 3, 2024) – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run near 16th Street, early Friday morning.
 
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident happened on May 31, at about 1:00 a.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit a 32-year-old man.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
 
As per reports, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. SPD later identified the suspect as 41-year-old Joe Johnson of Sacramento. At around 7:00 p.m., authorities arrested Johnson in the 2300 block of Broadway.
 
He was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony hit-and-run related charges.
 
Sacramento police continue to investigate the accident.
