Victor Fields Killed in Bicycle Accident on 805 Freeway [Chula Vista, CA]

Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Car on 805 Freeway at Palm Avenue

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (June 9, 2024) – Victor Keith Fields was killed in a bicycle accident in Chula Vista Wednesday evening on May 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:40 p.m. along southbound 805 Freeway at the Palm Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, Fields was riding his bicycle on the shoulder of the southbound freeway exiting onto the Palm Avenue off-ramp when a Toyota sedan turned to the right and struck him.
 
The impact caused Fields fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was 66 years old, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
