Woman Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on First Street [Fresno, CA]

Pedestrian Hospitalized after Fresno Hit-and-Run on First Street near Yale Avenue

FRESNO, CA (June 7, 2024) – A woman in her 30s sustained injuries following a hit-and-run on First Street, early Thursday morning.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened on June 6, at about 2:00 a.m. A vehicle reportedly hit the woman intentionally near the intersection of Yale Avenue and First Street.

Then, the driver immediately fled the scene.

The victim suffered a broken leg and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.

Investigators believe that the victim and the suspect know each other. A witness also added that the driver had accused the woman of stealing from him prior to the incident.

Fresno police continue to investigate the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
