Woman Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash at Avenue J in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (June 11, 2024) — A woman died in a multi-car accident at Avenue J and 255th Street on Sunday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly multi-vehicle collision happened around 10:24 p.m. For an unknown reason, at least two cars collided on East Avenue J east of 255th Street East. Subsequently, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, locating a female passenger with fatal injuries and a black Toyota sedan. In addition, they found a vehicle about 300 feet from the roadway with a broken rear window and the ignition pushed out, prompting officers to surmise that someone had stolen the equipment before abandoning the car.
 
Inferring from evidence, police believe a third car left the scene.
 
At this time, officials have not released the woman’s name or established the cause. However, if anyone could help local authorities identify the cause of this accident, contact the CHP.
