Motorcycle and Pedestrian Accident on McNab Avenue in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (February 22, 2021) – An elderly man died in a pedestrian accident on McNab Avenue on February 16.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Stearns Street at approximately 6:20 PM.
Based on a report, a 23-year-old male resident of Long Beach was driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. At the same time, the pedestrian was crossing the road in an unmarked crosswalk. Due to unknown reasons, the motorcycle struck the victim.
As a result, the pedestrian died at a hospital. Officials only identified the victim as a 76-year-old Long Beach man.
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries. Crews transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
At this point, the Long Beach Police Department is still investigating this pedestrian accident on McNab Avenue. No other details are available. However, officers don’t suspect alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving to be factors in the crash.
