Authorities Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident at Fair Avenue and Mission Street
SANTA CRUZ, CA (February 22, 2021) – A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle accident Thursday in Santa Cruz.
The Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Friday as Omar Enriquez of Capitola.
The crash was reported at 4:43 p.m., February 18, in the area of Fair Avenue and Mission Street.
Enriquez was riding his motorcycle northbound on Mission Street when he struck the side of a passenger vehicle. The impact caused him to lose control and fall off his bike.
First responders rushed Enriquez to Dominican Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The road was closed in both directions after the crash. All involved drivers remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
It is unknown at this time how many vehicles were involved. Police is asking anyone with further information to contact traffic investigations Sgt. Wes Morey at 831-420-5857.
