Stolen Car Involved in Fatal Crash on Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY, CA (February 15, 2021) – One person died in a stolen car crash on Jamacha Boulevard on February 13.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Sweetwater Road around 10:00 PM.
Based on a report, deputies spotted the stolen car in the 700 block of Grand Avenue. Immediately, they started a chase. After a brief high-speed pursuit, the car ran a red light at the intersection of Jamacha and Sweetwater. Subsequently, it collided with two other vehicles.
As a result, the driver of the first vehicle that was struck died in the incident. Officials only identified her as a 21-year-old woman. Crews sent two men and a 15-month-old child in the second vehicle to the hospital for injuries.
Later on, officials arrested the 17-year-old driver of the stolen car on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, possession of a stolen vehicle and other charges. However, an investigation into this stolen car crash on Jamacha Boulevard is still under investigation.
