Man Dies in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at Chester Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 1, 2021) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Chester Avenue and Columbus Street Thursday night.
According to Bakersfield Police, the crash happened around 8:28 p.m. Upon arriving, officers found a man in the road with major injuries. Unfortunately, he died a short time later, yet authorities have yet to release his name.
At this time, officers say a hit-and-run driver struck the victim and fled the scene. Per witnesses’ testimonies, the driver of the suspected Honda may have been street racing before the crash.
