Authorities Identify 5-Year-Old Girl Killed in Colton Crash
COLTON, CA (April 13, 2021) – Authorities identified the 5-year-old girl who died in a car accident in Colton Sunday afternoon, April 11.
She was Alexa Adalia Avalos of Twin Peaks, according to the coroner’s office.
Around 2:25 p.m., officers responded to the crash in the 900 block of South Cooley Drive at East Cooley Lane and found three people inside the vehicle.
Paramedics rushed the girl to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she later died.
Two other people were also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Colton police said it appears the car was traveling south on Cooley Drive when it left the roadway. It then crossed over a raised center median and collided with the electrical pole.
The Colton Police Department is investigating to determine if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
