Eric Mays Involved in Deadly Tractor Crash on Washington Road near Taylor Road
KEYES, CA (April 13, 2021) — Eric Mays suffered injuries in a fatal tractor accident on Washington Road near Taylor Road Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened around 1:47 p.m. Under circumstances that demand further investigation, a Dodge pickup truck heading southbound on Washington Road struck a tractor at speeds of 35 mph.
As a result of the impact, a 50-year-old Gustine man was ejected from the tractor. Shortly after, paramedics arrived at the scene but pronounced him dead moments later.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Mays, of Turlock, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
At this time, authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors. However, they are working to establish whether the tractor had pulled out from an orchard before the accident.
