Woman Dies after Hit by Vehicle on Long Beach Boulevard while Lying in Parking Lot
LONG BEACH, CA (May 31, 2021) – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Long Beach Boulevard Monday morning, May 31.
The fatal accident happened around 10:42 a.m. According to the Long Beach Police Department, a 27-year-old Los Angeles man was driving a 2010 Scion XB through a business parking lot in the 2500 block of Long Beach Boulevard when he struck the woman who was lying on the ground.
Paramedics arrived soon after to render aid to the woman, police said. However, the woman did not survive and died at the scene.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
Investigators said the woman had been lying underneath a pile of blankets in a parking stall when she was struck.
An investigation is ongoing. Police asked anyone with further information to call Det. S. Loughlin or Det. K. Johansen at 562-570-7355.
