One Worker Dead by Los Angeles Electrical Fire on Olympic Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 20, 2021) — One worker died in an electrical fire on Olympic Boulevard near Bundy Drive Thursday.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire happened around 12:10 p.m. at a high-rise building. For unknown reasons, the rebar at the site became electrically energized. As a result, three workers sustained injuries and a fire ruptured.
Although two of the workers were able to escape successfully, one person died at the scene. Shortly after, 30 firefighters extinguished the blaze but had to wait to de-energize the scene to recover the worker’s body.
