Driver Dies after Train Hits Vehicle near Broadway
BURLINGAME, CA (August 18, 2021) — A driver dies after a train hits his car near Broadway and Carolan Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
According to Caltrain and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident happened around 4:35 p.m. For unknown reasons, a northbound train shuttling 145 passengers onboard struck a vehicle at the Broadway grade crossing. As a result, the unidentified driver suffered fatal injuries.
Per news reports, no one on board reported any injuries and several trains experienced delays as a result of the investigation.
