Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on Power Inn Road near Fruitridge Road in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (October 22, 2021) – A driver was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Power Inn Road, late Wednesday morning.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident happened on October 20, at about 11:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a sedan collided with a tow truck near the intersection of Power Inn Road and Fruitridge Road.
As per reports, a third vehicle became involved and was grazed in the incident.
Emergency crews later pronounced the driver of the sedan dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the tow truck and a passenger in a sedan sustained non-life-threatening injuries and needed hospitalization.
Responders closed the area until late afternoon to make way for an investigation.
Sacramento police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
