Police Arrest Alvin Carrell for DUI after Crash in Mendocino County Seriously Injuring His Two Passengers
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (October 10, 2021) – Police arrested Alvin Dean Carrell after a DUI crash in Mendocino County Friday evening, October 1.
The crash happened around 9:05 p.m. on Peachland Road, about a mile from Highway 128 north of Boonville. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 81-year-old suspect from Boonville was driving a blue pickup truck when he failed to negotiate a curve. He then veered off the roadway and went about 60 feet down a steep embankment.
As a result, two passengers in the pickup suffered major injuries. Emergency crews transported them to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in unknown conditions.
Meanwhile, Carrell was taken to Ukiah Adventist with unspecified injuries.
Police later determined that Carrell was driving under the influence. They arrested and booked him into the Mendocino County Jail.
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
