DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in Napa Injures One Driver, Amalia Hernandez Arrested
NAPA, CA (October 10, 2021) – Police arrested Amalia Contreras Hernandez after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Napa Tuesday night.
The crash happened around 6:34 p.m. on October 5, in the 900 block of Yount Street. According to the Napa Police Department, the 52-year-old suspect from Napa was driving a vehicle eastbound when she failed to stop at a stop sign. She then struck a southbound vehicle on Main Street.
The impact injured the driver of the southbound vehicle. Paramedics treated the patient at the scene.
After the crash, Hernandez continued driving south before fleeing on foot into a backyard in the 1800 block of Main Street.
Police later found Hernandez and took her to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. After receiving treatment at the hospital, they arrested and booked her into the Napa County jail on felony DUI and hit-and-run.
At this time, the incident is under investigation.
