DUI Driver Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 1 at Main Street in Half Moon Bay
HALF MOON BAY, CA (October 28, 2021) – Police arrested a man following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 on October 23.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Main Street around 5:17 AM.
Based on an initial report, three vehicles collided in the lanes. Prior to that, one of the vehicles exited the highway at high speeds. Officers said the roads were wet at that time. Subsequently, the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into another car that was driving south on Main Street. The collision caused the second vehicle to spin out of control, throwing a small motorcycle from the bed of the vehicle. In the end, the motorcycle hit a third car.
Fortunately, emergency crews did not record any major injuries in this incident.
Morro Bay police arrested the 22-year-old reckless driver for driving under the influence.
At this point, the crash investigation is ongoing.
