Man Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 140 near Lincoln Boulevard [Merced County, CA]

Bicyclist Dies after Hit by Truck on Highway 140 in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (October 19, 2021) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Highway 140 in Merced County early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 4:30 a.m. on October 17, near Lincoln Boulevard south of Livingston. According to the CHP, the man was riding his bike eastbound on the highway when a pickup truck traveling in the same direction struck him.
 
Paramedics responded and found the man lying in the roadway. They rushed him to an area hospital, where the victim later died.
 
The driver of the pickup did not sustain any injuries. He remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident. They said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash and that there is poor visibility in the area where the crash took place.
